A Tribute to Mental Health Awareness: RES Sponsors the Orange United Sports Club Green Ribbon Event

 

On Saturday 31 May 2025, the serene Moulder Park came alive with a powerful spirit of community and remembrance. The Green Ribbon Event, held during the Orange United Warriors Club’s Round 7 home game against the Cargo Blue Heelers, aimed to raise awareness and support for mental health within the community.

This round carried a profound significance, honouring the memory of beloved club teammate, Dudley Shillingsworth, and all those the club and community have lost to the 'black dog.' As the Warriors and Blue Heelers took to the field, they competed fiercely for the Dudley Shillingsworth Shield—a symbol of unity, strength, and community resilience.

The day was not just about the competition; it was a heartfelt reminder that no one walks alone, and that support, understanding, and connection can change lives. The Orange United Warriors emerged victorious, proudly taking home the Dudley Shillingsworth Shield, in a match that was as much about camaraderie as it was about sport.

Adding to the significance of the event, RES, the world's largest independent renewable energy company, demonstrated its commitment to community values and mental health by sponsoring the event.

RES supporting the Mums Matter campaign

RES has partnered with Central West Mums for their Mums Matter campaign to celebrate and support women, by giving away grocery vouchers to Mums who could use a little extra help right now.

Australian Disc Golf Championships

Australian Disc Golf Championships hosted by the Central West Disc Golf Club at Molong from 22 November to 1 December. 

Cumnock General Store 'Shop'toberfest 

The Cumnock General Store Committee wishes to extend their biggest Danke (Thanks) for the generous sponsorship from RES Group of our 2024 Shoptoberfest event. Without the generosity of Sponsors, fundraisers such as this would not be possible. The event was a huge success with all funds raised going directly to the continued renovations of the Community owned Cumnock General Store.” The Cumnock General Store 

Molong Golf Club Open

“We appreciate RES for their sponsorship of this year’s Men’s and Ladies’ Open Tournament. Their support ensures that we can continue to deliver top-tier events for golfers from Molong and beyond.” Erin Oates, Secretary Molong Golf Club.

Donations to the Euchareena Soldiers Memorial Hall

In support of the small community of Euchareena, RES has recently donated a lawn mower, and a defibrillator to the Euchareena Soldiers Memorial Hall. Funding for these would usually be raised from the Community, and this donation will serve to ease some of that burden.

Maintenance of the Hall falls to the community, and the former mower had not been working for some time. RES is proud to assist in ensuring the hall and grounds are maintained for many years to come.

Committee Chair, Peter Wykes upon receiving the Defibrillator, noted that whilst Euchareena is a small town it could be life-saving having it stationed there and that any help is always appreciated. The Euchareena Brigade of the NSW Rural Fire service is located opposite the Hall, and the Defibrillator will be a resource for the whole community.

RES joins Orange United Sports Club in support of White Ribbon Australia

RES proudly partnered with Orange United Sports Club to sponsor the Charity Round for White Ribbon Australia. While the day produced blizzard-like conditions for players and spectators, the message of support shone through on their jerseys.
